Rachel Kohl, OMD

Rachel Kohl, OMD

Dr. Rachel is a fourth generation Las Vegas native. After completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at UNLV in 2006 (while working full-time doing bookkeeping and small business development), she began seeing an acupuncturist for help with several health issues. The profound effect that acupuncture and Chinese herbs had on her spurred her interest in pursuing it as a career.

She moved to San Diego, CA in late 2008 to attend the prestigious Pacific College of Health and Sciences where she obtained her acupuncture and Oriental medicine degree and training. It was during this time that she met her future husband, Dr. Mike, and they agreed to move back to Las Vegas to start their life and practice together in 2013.

In the past 10+ years, Dr. Kohl has been a leader in the Oriental Medicine field in Nevada. She is the former Director of Operations for the Wongu Health Center and was formerly a teacher of advanced orthopedics and practice management at Wongu University (Nevada’s only acupuncture and Oriental medicine school). She was a founding member and former President of the Nevada Coalition for Acupuncture which has worked on a number of initiatives to promote and improve patient access to acupuncture services in Nevada. She continues to mentor students in her private practice.

When she is not busy seeing patients and overseeing the operations here at Integrative Acupuncture, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband, their son, Owen, and their dog Penny.

Michael Ferris, OMD

Michael Ferris, OMD

Dr. Ferris is the co-owner of the practice. He has been licensed in Nevada since 2013 and specializes in orthopedic acupuncture for pain conditions.

Mike has a passion for helping people get out of pain naturally. He first became interested in Chinese medicine when living in Taiwan, for over a decade, working as a freelance translator of Mandarin.

Since moving to Las Vegas with his wife, Dr. Rachel, Dr. Mike has been actively involved in the Oriental Medicine industry in the state, both in the capacity of teaching as a former adjunct professor of Chinese language and Needling Techniques at Wongu University. He has also been serving as a governor-appointed OMD member of the Nevada State Board of Oriental Medicine for the past several years.

When not seeing patients, Mike enjoys wood working, hiking, and is an avid reader. He loves spending time with his family.

Pang Kuo George Hsu, OMD

Pang Kuo “George” Hsu, OMD

Dr. George is originally from Taichung, Taiwan. As a child, acupuncture and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) helped prevent him from having to have surgery, so he was aware of its profound effect on the body from a very young age which eventually led to him pursuing it as a career.

Dr. Hsu moved to Las Vegas in 2012. Prior to that he had obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and worked as a physical therapy technician. He completed his degree in Oriental medicine here in Las Vegas at Wongu University in 2021 and began practicing with us at Integrative Acupuncture in mid-2022. He specializes in herbal medicine, so is a great choice to schedule an herbal consultation with if you are interested in seeking natural alternatives for internal medicine.

In his spare time, Dr. George enjoys traveling, playing golf, and doing photography in addition to spending time with his wife and two small children.

Karin Moeller, OMD

Karin Moeller, OMD

Dr. Moeller originally hails from Cable, WI. She relocated to Las Vegas in 2013 from Jacksonville, FL, after previously living in Ft. Lauderdale for 10 years.

After having worked in the restaurant industry since the young age of 14 (doing every position from dish washing up to General Manager!), Karin decided that she was ready for a career change in which she was felt she was helping people. Along the way, she had become licensed in massage therapy in 1996 and had trained in Tuina technique in China in 2000.

Dr. Karin eventually began her acupuncture and Oriental medicine degree and was a star student at Wongu University. She also worked as an acupuncture assistant in our office while working on her degree and finishing her internship. She became licensed and began practicing here in 2022 and has been highly sought after by patients ever since for her effective treatments and down-to-earth bedside manner.

When she isn’t busy practicing, she enjoys traveling and trying new foods with her husband, Paul, and two teenage daughters, Madison and Morgan. Dr. Karin has been a lifelong dog owner and is currently the mom of two rescues, Macie and Murphy.

Leslie Pasternack, OMD

Leslie Pasternack, OMD

After completing her academic journey at San Diego State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2003, Dr. Leslie ventured into the world of corporate finance. However, seven years down the road, she realized the toll that long hours, sedentary routines, and overwhelming stress were taking on her well-being. This realization sparked a change within her.

Drawing from her inherent thirst for knowledge and growth, she pursued higher education. In addition to her to her Bachelor’s degree, she holds a Master’s and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science. Her journey towards holistic well-being led her to unexpected horizons.

Through training under the mentorship of distinguished practitioners, Dr. Leslie has honed her skills in various acupuncture methodologies. She specializes in a distal style of acupuncture called Balance Method and in orthopedic acupuncture.

Away from the treatment room, Dr. Pasternack is an avid reader that constantly seeks inspiration. Traveling is another passion that allows her to broaden her horizons and recharge her spirit. But her zest for life doesn’t stop there. Whether she is on the basketball court, hockey rink, or in the soccer field, she engages in heartwarming moments with her husband, Dan, and their two beautiful children, Kai and Bear.

Acupuncture office dogs

Ollie & Penny

Ollie (left) and Penny (right) are our official “office dogs.” They are best fur friends and almost never steal each other’s toys and bones. ;)

Ollie belongs to Dr. Angela Carlson (a naturopathic doctor who shares our space) and Penny belongs to Drs. Mike and Rachel. They are both still puppies so we appreciate your understanding if you hear a random bark or the sound of dogs wrestling while you are visiting.

We hope to eventually train Penny as a therapy dog, so in the meantime, feel free to ask us if you’d like to pet her or feed her a treat to help her get used to different people.
